Video Storytelling/Journalism
A fairly inexpensive solution for getting started with video storytelling/journalism would include the following items:
- Mac Solution
- Computer
- ISight Camera (Most recent machines now have the ISight built into the computer) ($125) - http://www.apple.com or Video Camera
- VideoCue Software ($99) - http://www.varasoft.com

Procedures involved in creating a Video lesson:
- Storyboard your presentation
- Script your presentation in a Word/Appleworks format
- Gather graphics to include in your presentation
- Powerpoints
- Digital images
- Screen shots
- Open video software (videocue) and create lesson
- Copy and paste script from Word/Appleworks format into script section of program
- Layer Setup - background (normal), title, forground
- Select a background image (use photoshop elements to brighten up) - Image
- Include a title line
- Include a foreground images
- Full size
- PIP size (this is adjustable for size and location)
- Record presentation
- Presentation will be saved as a quicktime movie
Other Considerations:
- Length of the lesson - humor in the lesson - outside resources.
- How will the overall lesson be delivered (order of delivery could be done in several ways)
- Part I - Introductory video
- Stop video and students work on assignment
- Part II - Summary video
- Quiz or additional assignment (myelearning??)
- What to wear for best video recording with use of green screen.
- Lighting

- Convert your presentation into a podcast
- Add video in addition to graphics within your lesson

- Cover slide announcing the lesson
- Music
- Set up a video area within your room
- Show other faculty
- Have students create video presentations
