LB 1208 Update:

Distance Education Reimbursement Allowance

Did your school submit via the GMS for your Distance Education Reimbursement Allowance (June 30, 2008)
Did your school receive your reimbursement request?
If your school has a carryover balance do you have plans for expending those funds?

LB 1208 Eligibility Requirements

Are you or do you have plans for sending or receiving at least two semesters of high school classes during this year?

At this time, the only schools that I am not aware of meeting the eligibility requirement are Elm Creek, Lexington, Kearney, and Ord,

How are these classes accounted for?
How do these classes apply for incentive dollars?

Number of 9-12 received semester classes
Number of 9-12 sent semester classes
Number of 9-12 sent semester classes to sparse areas

RUS Information:

Tri-Valley Schools were awarded a RUS grant in 2006. The grant purchased a Lifesize Codec that is in your school. Before ESU 10 can be reimbursed for over $300,000 worth of codecs, we need verification of in-kind contributions from each school. Items that qualify in support of the in-kind match include additional codec purchases, routers, switches, video displays, carts, and related distance education classroom equipment.

The following schools have submitted documents in support of their in-kind contribution:
Amherst, Anselmo-Merna, Ansley, Arcadia, Bertrand, Burwell, Centura, Elwood, ESU 10, ESU 11, Gibbon, Greeley/Wolbach, Loomis, Loup City, North Loup Scotia, Ord, Overton, Pleasanton, Ravenna, Sandhills, Sargent, St. Paul, Wilcox/Hildreth.

Miscellaneous Information:

The number of distance education class offerings has grown from 70 classes in 2007-08 to over 90 classes this fall.

Fourteen classes are being shared to schools outside of the Tri-Valley districts.

All but three classes are being offered using either the Lifesize or Sony codecs.

Future of BNI technology?

I s your district planning on charging for classes? If so have you notified receiving sites and when are you requesting payment?
